Scentwork Classes in Kent

Let your dog do what dogs do best

Sniffing is one of the most natural and rewarding things a dog can do. Our scentwork classes and workshops near Maidstone tap into that instinct, tiring your dog out in the best possible way while building confidence and calm.

What is scentwork?

Scentwork teaches your dog to search for and find a specific scent, much like detection dogs do. You start simple, hiding treats or a scented target, then gradually build up to more challenging searches indoors and outdoors. It is a sport that puts your dog's nose, the most powerful part of them, right at the centre.

What to expect in class

Classes are calm, friendly and worked one dog at a time, so even reactive or nervous dogs can take part comfortably. We start with the basics and build week by week, with searches you can easily practise at home and on walks. We run scentwork as both regular classes and one off workshops, so you can dip in or commit to a course.

Calm setting, one dog at a time
Start from scratch, no experience needed
Easy to practise at home and on walks
Available as classes or one off workshops

Perfect for nearly every dog

Old or young, energetic or laid back, confident or shy, almost every dog can enjoy scentwork. Because it relies on the nose rather than speed or athleticism, it is especially good for older dogs, recovering dogs and those who find other activities overwhelming. If your dog has a nose, and they all do, they can do scentwork.
